Beavis and Butt-Head is an American adult animated comedy television series created by Mike Judge. The series follows the eponymous Beavis and Butt-Head, both voiced by Judge, a pair of teenage slackers characterized by their apathy, lack of intelligence, lowbrow humor, and failure to attract women. The characters originated in Judge's 1992 short film Frog Baseball, which was broadcast by MTV's animation showcase Liquid Television. After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from March 8, 1993, to November 28, 1997. The series was revived with an eighth season airing on MTV from October 27, 2011, to December 29, 2011, but was cancelled a second time following the season's conclusion. A second revival consisting of two seasons is scheduled to air on Comedy Central. During its initial run, Beavis and Butt-Head received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society, although its violent content generated controversy. The show's popularity spawned various related media, including the theatrical film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996. A second film has also been announced for streaming service Paramount+. Premise The series centers on two unintelligent teenage delinquent couch potatoes named Beavis and Butt-Head (both voiced by Judge) who lack social skills. They attend school at Highland High in a town named Highland, located somewhere in Texas or New Mexico.
